Weekly rehearsals for our Spring 2018 performance begin Monday February 12.  Rehearsals are 7:30-9:00 pm in the Whetstone High School choir room (enter building through the south or southeast doors).  Please Note Two Exceptions!  Due to school closure, the February 19 and April 2 rehearsals will be held at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, corner of N. High Street and Clinton Heights Ave.  This is one block south of the intersection of High and North Broadway.  We will perform at Wesley Glen Retirement Community on Monday April 16 (7 pm) and at Calvary Bible Church on Sunday April 22 (2 pm).

Our Holiday Concert was two days ago but the songs we performed are still playing in my mind!  Currently “O Come All Ye Faithful.”  I would like to express my gratitude to all our singers — especially our new members, to the C’Ville Songsters, to our talented yet humble accompanist Joyce Beauvais, and to our energetic new Artistic Director Ryan Jenkins. I heard nothing but rave reviews after our performance, and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.  The Holiday season is also a time for reflecting about loved ones and friends.  I’m sure I wasn’t the only choir member on Sunday thinking of our own Santa, charter member John Hamilton, who was unable to perform this fall due to health problems.  We wish him all the best in his recovery.  Looking ahead, 2018 is right around the corner and I am already excited about our upcoming Spring Concert!  I hope you are too, and look forward to seeing you February 12 when rehearsals begin.  Happy holidays!  Pete Sanderson (choir president)

Due to Columbus City Schools being closed, our February 20, 2017 rehearsal will be at Clinton Heights Lutheran church at 15 Clinton Heights Ave.  This is where our summer rehearsals have been held in recent years.  It is on the SE corner of High St and Clinton Heights, one block south of North Broadway.

Our annual Spring choir concert will be Sunday April 23, 2017 at Calvary Bible Church.  Weekly rehearsals start Monday February 23 in the Whetstone High School choir room from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.  All are welcome to join in!  No auditions, just a desire to share your musical talents with community members of all ages.

Our annual joint Holiday concert with the Clintonville Community Band will be Sunday December 4, 2016 at Whetstone High School.  Weekly rehearsals start Monday September 26 in the Whetstone High School choir room from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.  All are welcome to join in!  No auditions, just a desire to share your musical talents with community members of all ages.  We are always in need of tenors!

Our annual summer concert will be Sunday August 14, 2016 at 7 pm in the Columbus Park of Roses as part of the Civitan Park of Roses Concert Series.  Rehearsals start Monday June 6 at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.  We will rehearse each Monday except for July 4 week when rehearsal will be Tuesday July 5.  It’s not too late to join!  We’re looking forward to singing the Beach Boys medley on a warm summer evening in the park, close to the shores of the Olentangy!  Not exactly Manhattan Beach but we’ll make the most of it!

Here are two rehearsal aids which you might find useful for the Chichester Psalms. There is one “track” for each part (Bass 1, Bass 2, Tenor 1, Tenor 2, etc.) Each track plays that part with enough of the other parts/accompaniment/metronome in the background to let you hear how the part fits in.

• “Track 1” is Movement 1, Part 1 (i.e. Soprano 1)
